| pashdown | I heard tonight that we didn't have enough National Guard resources available in the area to deal with it. |

| pashdown | I am saddened by the loss of life and New Orleans. I took a trip there in '91 and it was a beautiful city. |

| pashdown | There was an NPR reporter on the radio tonight talking about people living at the convention center like animals with no rules and no supplies. |

| gthornock | I have to wonder, though, at the amount of blame that's being thrown around right now. It seems to me that the middle of the emergency isn't the time to worry about blame. It would make more sense to spend our efforts on fixing the immediate problems; determining blame and improving process for the future can be done after the crisis is over. |

| pashdown | On abortion, I consider myself pro-life, but I also know that I am not a doctor and certainly not a woman. I can not predict every single circumstance that a woman may come under, so I feel it is wrong for me to try and legislate that topic. I believe should be safe and legal for cases of incest, rape, and health of the mother. |

| pashdown | I have been looking at this recently and someone told me that Arizona and Maine have adopted public financing. If that is true, I think its something that should be studied for a federal system. |
